No Need to Make Things More Difficult

Whatever your thoughts were on George W. Bush as a president, it seems he is becoming more liked the longer he is out of office, though that is not why I bring him up. The reason I mention him is because recently he said something I found to be meaningful; when asked about President Obama in this CNN interview, he commented that he would not criticize the President because it would do no good and he has a tough job.

What if we were as gracious when given the opportunity to criticize another? What if, when give a “legitimate” reason to “throw someone under the bus,” we didn’t? What if, when expected to criticize, we refused? It might just be possible that life is already difficult enough for some around us that we do no good by making it more difficult.
