The movie has been out for a few days now. You’ve seen the trailers, read the reviews, heard all of the reasons you should or shouldn’t see it. Some may question the commitment to your faith if you pay money to see and support this inaccurate portrayal of the biblical story. This has resulted in some calling for a boycott of the movie.
Everybody. Calm. Down.
If you think the movie looks interesting, go see it. If not, don’t. Choosing not to see a movie based upon your faith is a very respectable thing to do but to force that onto others is not helpful. Look for ways to create conversations about faith, not shut them down. Be open to more discussions, not less.
First celebrate that the conversation is happening and then trust the Spirit to work out the content.
