40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them. (Luke 4)
Jesus was intentional about connecting with people. This is what drew the crowds to him, they knew within that connection was healing, hope, and wholeness. So much so, individuals went out of their way to bring their family, friends, and neighbors to see him. What does that mean for the Church today?
Is the Church a place individuals seek out for hope and healing? Do the very people who make up the Church bring others into its fellowship in order to connect with the One who is healing and hope? Jesus demonstrated his care for the hurting, the broken, and the outsider. How are we doing Church?
May we, as Christ’s Church, be a place individuals are drawn to for healing, not pushed away because of harm.
