God uses each of us in different ways. Sometimes God uses us to walk beside individuals who have suffered loss (job, loved one, relationship, health, etc.) as a way to help bring about healing. An important part of that healing journey involves weaving scripture throughout the process.
Ball State University has been in the news lately regarding the issue of intelligent design and its place within the science classroom. In a letter to the Ball State community, President Dr. Gora writes, “Intelligent design is overwhelmingly deemed by the scientific community as a religious belief and not a scientific theory. Therefore, intelligent design is not appropriate content for science courses.”
There are tons of conversations happening right now about the relationship between Millennials (those born between 1980 and 1990, roughly) and the Church, or the lack thereof. Rachel Held Evans has recently written two articles on the CNN Belief Blog, “Why Millennials Are Leaving the Church” and “Why Millennials Need the Church.” Over at the Washington Post On Faith Blog, Brett McCracken wrote a response entitled, “How to keep Millennials in the church? Let’s keep church un-cool.” I would encourage you to read all three sometime.
